LGBTQI+ youth are disproportionately represented in homeless youth counts. They endure higher rates of adversity, and face more discrimination in housing, education and employment than their straight or cisgender peers. This session discusses the issue of LGBTQI+ youth homelessness in the Twin Cities, what Avenues is doing to support LGBTQI+ youth, and how community members can become involved. Avenues for Youth supports LGBTQI+ through all of its programs. And the ConneQT host home program provides culturally responsive housing support for youth who identify as LGBTQI+ within their community of choice.  All registered attendees will have access to the recorded version for 2 weeks.
